[Active or healing stage gastric ulcer]
Six is not a magic number. You don't need to take 6 biopsies from every lesion. Number 6 is proposed only for the pathological diagnosis of advanced gastric cancer. What is important is not the number but the quality. Careful targeted biopsy is more important than multiple careless biopsies.
In benign-looking ulcers, I recommend to take 3 or 4 biopsies (some from the edge, some from the ulcer base). Six biopsies for every ulcer may be too many.
