[UlcerTODAY 018. Treatment duration of incidentally found small gastric ulcer]

Previous | Next

A small shallow gastric ulcer was found in a screening endoscopy. The biopsy was H. pylori-associated chronic gastritis, active.

A short course of Helicobacter eradication and follow-up endoscopy with biopsy is necessary. Do you think additional anti-ulcer treatment is required?

I prescribed one week Helicobacter eradication treatment (PPI-based triple therapy) only. I gave no more PPI, no more H2RA, and no more mucosal protective agent. That's it.

The simpler, the better.
