[Meckel's diverticulum]

Meckel's diverticulum is an outpouching or bulge in the lower part of the small intestine. Á¡¸·, Á¡¸·ÇÏÃþ, ±ÙÃþÀ» ¸ðµÎ Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ´Â Áø¼º °Ô½ÇÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

The bulge is congenital and is a leftover of the umbilical cord. The lifetime risk for a person with Meckel's diverticulum to develop certain complications is about 4-6%. Gastrointestinal bleeding, peritonitis or intestinal obstruction may occur in 15-30% of symptomatic people. Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital defect of the gastrointestinal tract.
