식도에서 위식도접합부를 보면 식도암이라고 생각할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 그러나 위를 살펴보면 병소의 중앙은 뚜렷하게 위라는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 위암이 식도를 침윤한 경우입니다.

Advanced gastric carcinoma
1. Location : upper third, Center at cardia and lesser curvature
2. Gross type : Borrmann type 3
3. Histologic type : papillary adenocarcinoma (with focal micropapillary growth and extracellular mucin production)
4. Histologic type by Lauren : intestinal
5. Size : 12.2x5.5x1.2 cm
6. Depth of invasion : extension to proper muscle (pT2a)
7. Resection margin: free from carcinoma, safety margin: distal 13 cm, proximal 0.6 cm
8. Lymph node metastasis : metastasis to 23 out of 57 regional lymph nodes (pN3)
9. Lymphatic invasion : present (+++)
10.Venous invasion : present (intra-and extramural)
11.Perineural invasion : present
