[Gastric cancer 857. When to stop EGD and/or CT after ESD for EGC]

8 years ago, an elderly lady with an EGC IIa detected in the screening endoscopy was referred for the endoscopic treatment.

ESD was done and the pathology was curative resection.

ESD using Olympus Dual knife and IT-2 knife

Annual follow-up EGD and abdominal CT were done until 8 years after ESD. The question is when to stop endoscopy and/or CT

Recently, the rate of extragastric recurrence after ESD is less than 0.2% after curative resection. The interval after ESD and the extragastric recurrence were around 5 years. Based on my experience, I stop the annual CT scan usually 7-8 years after the ESD. But, no stop for annual endoscopy.
