A 73 years lady was referred due to an EGC type I found in the screening endoscopy. The histology was moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. What's your treatment plan?
I primarily chose surgical option. But the possibility of endoscopic treatment was also considered.
Endoscopy after referral was done. The findings were basically the same. But I found that the mass lesion was tightly attached to the gastric wall, which suggested submucosal invasion.
Surgical consultation was done. Proximal gastrectomy was considered, so clipping was done.
Surgical pathology was submucosal cancer more than 2 cm.
Five years later, there was no recurrence.
