[Gastric cancer 862. Remnant cancer (9.3x2.2cm)]

40 years after partial gastrectomy for peptic ulcer bleeding, a 2cm sized nodular lesion was found in the anastomosis site (biopsy: M/D adenocarcinoma). Completion total gastrectomy was done.


Completion total gastrectomy: EGC
1. Location : middle third, center at body and anterior wall
2. Gross type : EGC type IIb+IIa
3. Histologic type : tubular adenocarcinoma, moderately differentiated
4. Histologic type by Lauren : intestinal
5. Size : 9.3x2.2 cm
6. Depth of invasion : invades mucosa (muscularis mucosa) (pT1a)
7. Resection margin: free from carcinoma, safety margin: proximal 6.2 cm, distal 10.5 cm
8. Lymph node metastasis : no metastasis in 29 regional lymph nodes (pN0)
9. Lymphatic invasion : not identified
10. Venous invasion : not identified
11. Perineural invasion : not identified
12. Associated findings : gastritis cystica profunda

It was a long and slender cancer along the anastomosis.
